·         Contamination Assessments (Phase 1 and 2)

J.L Geotechnical provide contamination assessments for green field and brown field sites in the form of phase 1, Desktop and site visit assessment of the site (PSI), and phase 2 investigations, invasive investigations, usually done in conjunction with a geotechnical investigations where soil and water are sampled and sent to our laboratory partners.

·         Lot Class - AS 2870 

When building a residential structure, the foundations need to be designed in accordance to the AS 2870. JLG can conduct a Lot Classification so that the designer and builder know what to expect and how to design the foundations. We can also advise on problematic sites (P class) providing high value solution. With your own Lot class you can rest soundly knowing that your structure is sitting on solid foundations.

·         Wind Class - AS 4055 

When building a residential structure, JLG can conduct a Lot Classification so that the designer and builder know what to expect. With your own Lot class you can rest soundly knowing that your structure is sitting on solid foundations.

·         Landslide Assessment 

Coastal landscape can be highly irregular and as such, many coastal councils require Landslide Assessments. We can provide you with a Landslide assessment as well as solutions if your block is prone to landslide. 

·         Chemically Aggressive Soils (Salinity and Acid Sulphate) 

Some soils can have high salinity, or acid sulphate potential. Salt can impact on the steel reinforcement of a concrete structure where as Sulphates, if excavated, can create sulphuric acid. We can conduct an on site investigation to test for salinity or acid sulphate soils, we can also do these investigations in conjunction with a Lot Classification.

·         Onsite Effluent Disposal Systems

Many homes and estates, particularly in rural areas, are not serviced by sewer. If your land is one of these lots, we can help. On site disposal (septic systems that drains the effluent into the soil) require a geotechnical investigation to install correctly. We can conduct an on site investigation to test for capacity of the soils, we can also do these investigations in conjunction with a Lot Classification. 

·         Geotechnical Design

As Geotechnical Engineers, JLG can design onsite retaining structures, foundations (both deep and shallow) and pavements. We do this by modelling your site and designing a structure to suit your needs. 

·         Forensic Investigations and Remediation

If your structure is moving, or have new cracks appearing in your structure and finishes, you may need a geotechnical forensic investigation. We will look at your structure and let you know what is causing the problems as well as possible solution with our industry partners.
